22-Year-Old TikTok Phenom, Katie Feeney, Bolsters ESPN’s NFL Social Media Team

ESPN has recruited popular content creator Katie Feeney to diversify its content strategy. Known for her reporting on sporting events, the 22-year-old influencer has amassed an impressive 14 million followers.

In an official press release, ESPN mentions that this move is part of ESPN’s commitment to invigorate growth and innovation across digital and social platforms. Feeney’s role will include daily contributions to ESPN’s social and digital efforts, leading a renewed approach to SportsCenter on Snapchat, and creation of vertical short-form video content for an enhanced ESPN App experience set to launch in early fall.

Furthermore, Feeney will make appearances on many of ESPN’s top NFL and college football studio shows, such as Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Countdown, and College GameDay. Her contributions will blend on-site access, fashion, and culture-driven content to engage sports fans more closely.

Feeney, a native of the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC, rose to success by leveraging the pandemic to create sports commentary. She made over a million dollars on Snapchat’s Spotlight program while still in her senior year of high school. After obtaining a broadcast journalism degree from Penn State, Feeney became the first social media correspondent for an NFL team (Washington Commanders). She has previously covered high-profile events such as the Oscars and the Super Bowl.

Feeney expressed her excitement about joining ESPN, a platform she grew up watching with her family, and looks forward to contribute to the storytelling that brings ESPN to fans worldwide.
