Arnold’s Triple Touchdowns Lead Auburn to 42-3 Victory over Ball State in Home Opener
In Auburn, Alabama, Jackson Arnold effectively led the Auburn Tigers to a massive 42-3 victory over Ball State in their home opener. Arnold performed exceptionally well throwing for 251 yards and making three touchdowns while Jeremiah Cobb ran for 121 yards and had two scores. The game saw the Tigers achieving a total of 271 yards passing and 224 yards rushing.
Nine players received passes throughout the game, with Cam Coleman leading the team with seven receptions for 77 yards. Eric Singleton Jr. scored two touchdowns, while Horatio Fields, a transfer player, added 51 yards and a touchdown.
Arnold expressed his gratitude towards Coach Freeze for having faith in him and allowing him to take charge of the offense. He enjoyed being able to pick out players at any time to throw to. Ball State, on the other hand, struggled noticeably with the Cardinals only able to managed 68 yards in total offense.
Their coach, Mike Uremovich expressed dissatisfaction towards their offensive execution and promised to work on improving it. After this victory, Auburn may find themselves climbing the Top 25 College Football Poll rankings. The team, focusing on the passing game, attempted 33 passes as opposed to the 17 they attempted in the previous week’s win against Baylor.
