During a recent episode of the CarCast podcast, WWE champion Bill Goldberg officially announced his retirement from wrestling. Why Did Goldberg Decide to Retire?

Goldberg expressed his desire for a more relaxed lifestyle as a key reason for his decision to retire. “I’ve got a life to live. I have a family and responsibilities. At some point, there’s a lot you have to manage. I don’t have anyone helping anymore. I’ve got my agents, but no assistance or staff under my roof. It’s tough to fit everything in. But after this match, there will be a lull. I won’t be wrestling anymore,” he stated.

He acknowledged his stem cell treatment as a significant factor in allowing him to return for one final match. “If Bioxcellerator hadn’t assisted me with stem cells, I probably couldn’t have done this. It was strategically important for me to do this early on, allowing me to chill and gradually resume training to rehabilitate my shoulder, knee, and align my spine. There’s a lot involved, but I have to remain human along the way,” he added.

Goldberg made his WWE debut in late 1997, maintaining an undefeated streak for nearly a year before losing to Kevin Nash. Known for moves like the Spear and the Jackhammer, he has faced numerous esteemed competitors such as Big Show, “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig, Bam Bam Bigelow, Sid Vicious, and Scott Steiner.

The WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, featuring Goldberg versus Gunther, will be broadcast on July 12 and can be viewed on Peacock.
