Brian Robinson Jr.’s Career Uncertain Amid Trade Talks Between Dan Quinn and Commanders | Times of India NFL News

Brian Robinson Jr.’s future with the Washington Commanders is currently uncertain after head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that there have been trade talks for the rookie. In a preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals on August 18, 2025, Robinson didn’t play. The head coach and general manager Adam Peters have had a meeting with him regarding the situation.

Brian Robinson Jr. was originally drafted by the Commanders in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft after a notable stint at Alabama. He managed to overcome a setback where he was shot during an armed carjacking just before his rookie season, still racking up nearly 800 rushing yards. Across the last three seasons, he has consistently reached over 700 rushing yards.

However, recent developments suggest that the Commanders may be considering trades due to their deep running back group, that includes Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols, Chris Rodriguez Jr., and rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt. In the event no trade occurs, Robinson might be released in line with the regular season roster cuts. His future remains uncertain as he enters the last year of his current contract.
