Kansas City Chiefs superstars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have added the title of “restaurateurs” to their accomplishments as they reveal details about their anticipated steakhouse, 1587 Prime. The restaurant, located at the Loews Kansas City Hotel, will open its doors on September 17.

Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, showed her support for the venture on social media. She shared the announcement and wrote a short and simple message, “Let’s gooooo”, demonstrating her enthusiasm.

Mahomes and Kelce announced the opening of reservations for their restaurant through a video on the steakhouse’s Instagram page. The caption of the video read, “Signed. Sealed. Delivered. Be the first to dine among legends. Reservations now open – visit the link in the bio to reserve your table.”

As soon as the reservations went live, the spots filled up quickly, reflecting the high anticipation of their restaurant.

Kansas City Chiefs fans hurried to book a table right when the reservations for 1587 Prime were open on August 20. Within hours, all spots were taken, underlining the significant influence of Mahomes and Kelce in the city.

The restaurant will be situated inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel, in a prime location (pun intended). The opening date, set for September 17, comes shortly before the beginning of the NFL season. With every table already reserved, 1587 Prime is becoming one of Kansas City’s hottest topics before its even opened.

The name of the restaurant, 1587 Prime, refers to Mahomes and Kelce’s jersey numbers – 15 and 87. It symbolizes their contribution to Kansas City and an acknowledgment of the support the community showed them throughout three Super Bowl runs.

Travis Kelce shared in an interview their shared vision when launching this project. “What can I tell you is that we’re trying to open it up by around this time next year, so a 2025 grand opening,” Kelce added. The tight end expressed his gratitude for meeting amazing people and partaking in this venture with his friend Patrick Mahomes.

There’s significant curiosity around what kind of dining experience Mahomes and Kelce plan to offer. However, given the hype around it and with two of the NFL’s biggest stars backing it, expectations are incredibly high.
