Brock Purdy Injury: Will the 49ers QB Play today against Cardinals? An Unsettling Update from Ian Rapoport.

San Francisco 49ers’ quarterback, Brock Purdy, has been out of games due to a turf toe injury he sustained during the team’s first game of the season against the Seattle Seahawks. After skipping week 2 recovery, there has been speculation about his return for the team’s week 3 matchup.

Purdy’s injury occurred during the game, a fact he reported after the rush of adrenaline cooled down post-game. He stated that he didn’t feel any particular issue until after the game when he got an MRI scan that revealed the injury. His injury news surprised many, considering he was the one who threw the winning touchdown pass for the match. Purdy discussed how he’s been on a day-to-day recovery since the injury and is hopeful of progress.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, reported that Purdy will unfortunately not be playing Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, however, there’s a chance he might be able to play in week 4. In his absence, Mac Jones has been promoted from backup to starter position, with Adrian Martinez being called from the practice squad.

The 49ers’ next game will be against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday (September 21) at 4:25 PM ET at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The match will be available for streaming on both Fox and NFL+.
