Carter Hart Eyes Career Revival with Anticipated 2-Year NHL Deal
Carter Hart is expected to sign a new two-year deal as he looks to revive his NHL career. After his tenure with the Philadelphia Flyers, the goaltender is seeking a fresh start in the Western Conference with significant playing time and a chance to win championships. The official announcement is set to be made mid-October, and a conditioning stint in the AHL has been scheduled up.
Carter Hart’s future in the NHL is set to take a major turn after his years with the Philadelphia Flyers. Reportedly on the brink of signing a two-year contract with a Western Conference team, the talented goaltender’s news was revealed by Michael Russo on the “Worst Seat in the House” podcast.
This potential change symbolizes a considerable opportunity for Hart to resurrect his career following a turbulent off-the-ice period. Hart, previously known as a rising star in the NHL, has had recent professional struggles, culminating in a widely publicized acquittal in a Hockey Canada sexual assault trial. Now, he is geared towards regaining his form.
Russo specifically stated, “Carter Hart will have a 2-year deal with a team from the west in mid-October, with either a team from the Central or Pacific under consideration.” Consequently, it seems Hart has multiple offers and is deliberating between which team would offer him a prominent role. Chris Johnston from The Athletic further confirmed, “His top priorities are securing a role where he gets a significant number of starts and playing for a team that can win. This effectively eliminates a return to Philadelphia.”
The official announcement of Hart’s signing will not occur until October 15, when the NHL permits new contracts. Subsequently, Hart will have a month to acclimate to his new team through practicing before he proceeds to the AHL for conditioning. This crucial period will be instrumental in determining whether Carter Hart can fully revive his NHL career and meet his early potential.
