Chiles’ 4 TDs Propel Michigan State to Victory over Boston College

The news tells of a thrilling college football match-up where Michigan State managed to edge out Boston College, owing much to Aidan Chiles outstanding performance. The action went into double overtime, where Chiles showcased his skills by running for a 3-yard touchdown and throwing a winning 2-point conversion to his teammate, Omari Kelly.

The final score was 42-40 as Michigan State claimed victory. Aidan Chiles completed 19 of 29 passes for 231 yards, achieving a career-high of four touchdowns. This outstanding performance followed after Michigan State scored on the first possession of overtime owing to Chiles’ 5-yard pass to Jaye Coyne. The score was however, equalized by Boston College’s Dylan Lonergan, forcing the game into a second overtime.

Boston College brought the match into overtime when Luca Lombardo scored a 38-yard field goal with 76 seconds left on the clock to tie the game at 27-all. Boston College’s running game took a hit when they totals only 67 yards, down from 97 yards in their opening game against Fordham.

Michigan State was able to counteract this with their secret weapon, punter Ryan Eckley. After averaging a high of 51.3 yards per punt against Western Michigan, he then averaged 54.7 yards against the Eagles, with two touchdowns landing on the 1-yard line during the fourth quarter.

In terms of next games, Boston College is set to visit Stanford on Sept. 13, while Michigan State will be hosting Youngstown State also on Sept. 13.
