Cody Rhodes Triumphs in King of the Ring Tournament

Cody Rhodes emerged victorious in the King of the Ring tournament, defeating Randy Orton in the final at Night of Champions. This achievement positions him for a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam. However, some question if Rhodes’ controversial win might lead to the final being expanded into a four-way match.

Rhodes’ Controversial Victory

While Rhodes clinched the title, his methods are under scrutiny. The decisive moment involved sending Randy Orton into an exposed steel turnbuckle followed by a Cross Rhodes. Speculations now swirl about whether Orton, feeling aggrieved, will lobby WWE CEO Triple H for a four-way matchup at SummerSlam featuring himself, CM Punk, John Cena, and Rhodes.

Adding fuel to the fire, the aftermath of The Last Real Champion’s match saw Seth Rollins intervene, making CM Punk eager for a rematch against Cena.

If speculation proves true, Rhodes’ reaction at a potential Four-Way Fatal match could be volatile, possibly involving underhanded tactics to claim the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cena. An alliance with The Rock could further paint Rhodes as a major heel, yet this scenario might deeply upset Cena.

The inaugural two-night SummerSlam event is slated for August 2-3 at MetLife Stadium.
