Daniel Jones’ Absence Affects Giants’ Performance; Colts Triumph with Danny Dimes | NFL News – Times of India

In an interesting start to the 2025 NFL season, former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, now playing for the Indianapolis Colts, is having an exceptional season. Having chalked up 816 passing yards, a 71.6 completion percentage, three touchdowns, zero interceptions, and three rushing touchdowns, he’s proving to be a valuable asset for the team. This comes as a surprise to many, considering that the Giants, despite retaining high-profile quarterbacks like Russell Wilson, Jaxson Dart, and Jameis Winston, have gone 0-3 at the beginning of the season.

Jones’s impressive performance can be attributed to several factors. Firstly, the confidence instilled in him by the Colts head coach Shane Steichen has been a morale booster. Second, his improved operation, communication within the huddle, checks, consistency, and ability to get new teammates on the same page have all played a significant role. Jones is an experienced player, and his early NFL career mentored by the NFL legend Eli Manning has been beneficial. Lastly, the ongoing support from the coaching staff has elevated Jones’s confidence and command of the offense.

On the other hand, the New York Giants seem to be in a difficult phase. While their brilliant 41-10 win against the New England Patriots in the 2025 preseason with quarterbacks Jameis Winston, and his self-proclaimed “three amigos” – Jaxson Dart and Tommy DeVito – had raised hopes, their failure to live up to expectations is worrisome. After breaking the “three amigos” by waiving DeVito, the team’s performance has consistently declined, and fans have voiced frustrations during games. More so, the team is dealing with several injuries, further complicating their situation. The Giants need to regroup quickly if they hope to turn this season around.
