Denver Broncos Misled by Counterfeit Micah Parsons Statement | NFL Updates – Times of India”
During a recent live telecast, the Denver Broncos broadcast team unfortunately fell victim to a fake internet quote. While intending to create a preseason conversation about Dallas Cowboys All-Pro linebacker, Micah Parsons, the broadcasters instead found themselves caught in an awkward situation of misinformation.
The incident happened when the team unknowingly created a segment based on a fictitious quote that sprouted up on social media. This happened during Saturday’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals that was broadcast locally and also on the NFL Network. Rather than focusing on the game that was taking place on the field, the broadcasters unintentionally gave voice to an Internet hoax.
The fake quote, which was circulated on a platform known as X (formerly Twitter) on August 14, purported that Parsons expressed a personal dream to join the Denver Broncos. This quote, according to the internet pranksters, was supposedly taken from Parsons’ podcast, The Edge. However, this was quickly proven to be false, as Parsons had not released a new episode of The Edge since January 2025. Despite this erroneous information, the Broncos’ broadcast team still used the quote during their telecast three days later.
The segment started off with play-by-play announcer Steve Levy introducing the topic, with sideline reporter Cynthia Frelund adding her thoughts and unintentionally enhancing the false narrative. Later on, analyst Ryan Harris deepened the misinformation with his statement, using the fabricated quote to air his views on Denver’s championship potential under head coach Sean Payton.
In reality, Micah Parsons has made no such statement about his future team preferences. His real-life circumstances already create enough drama – in this offseason, the All-Pro linebacker publicly asked the Cowboys for a trade amidst ongoing contract negotiations. This situation external to the fake quote has spurred a lot of internet rumors about his future, without him revealing any interest in joining Denver or any other team. Consequently, treating the fake social media post as fact only served to stoke further confusion amongst fans and football enthusiasts.
