Dhoni Feared Yuvraj Singh’s Betrayal: Yograj Singh’s Revelation
Yograj Singh, father of the former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has once again made accusations against his son’s former teammates, including Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, labeling them as “backstabbers”. He claims that Sachin Tendulkar was Yuvraj’s only genuine friend in cricket, while accusing other players of fearing Yuvraj out of concern he might take their place in the team.
“There are no friends in the sphere of success, money, and glory. There were always backstabbers, people who wanted to put you down. People were scared of Yuvraj Singh as they were afraid he would usurp their seats because he was a great player created by God Almighty. Everyone, from MS Dhoni onwards, feared that ‘he might take my chair,'” said Yograj.
Yograj has previously made similar remarks about Yuvraj’s former teammates and has said that his son was forced into early retirement. Regardless, Yuvraj had a successful international career from 2000 to 2017, playing in 402 matches for India. He scored a total of 11,178 runs at an average of 35.05, with 17 centuries and 71 fifties to his name. He was a vital part of India’s major title victories, including the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy, the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Yuvraj became the first Indian to hit six consecutive sixes in an over in international cricket, a feat he achieved against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup. His career highlight was during the 2011 World Cup, where he was named Player of the Tournament with 362 runs in nine matches, which included a century and four half-centuries, along with 15 wickets.
