The event commences on Friday, September 19, with the first free practice session, FP1, starting at 12:30 pm (2:00 pm IST) and the second one, FP2, at 4:00 pm (5:30 pm IST). Press conferences are also held on the same day. The third practice session, FP3, will be on September 20 at 12:30 pm (2:00 pm IST), followed by the qualifier at 4:00 pm (5:30 pm IST). The final of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix gets underway at 3:00 pm (4:30 pm IST) on Sunday, September 21.
There’s a possibility of light showers on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, with temperatures ranging between 18 – 25°C. Race day on Sunday is expected to be dry with temperatures expected to be between 17 – 21°C, with a slight chance of a shower in the morning.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is considered special due to its race track layout, which winds through Baku’s medieval city walls.
In India, fans can watch the event on FanCode, TATA Play and FanCode Sports or live stream it via F1 TV Pro or subscribe to F1 TV Premium. Other international channels including Sky Sports, ESPN, Fox Sports, and more will also broadcast the race across different countries.
Charles Leclerc has put on a strong performance on the Baku circuit, setting the fastest lap of 1:43.009 back in 2019. Leclerc has secured pole positions multiple times at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, but has yet to achieve a victory. However, he is expected to put on a good show this year. Last year, Leclerc finished second, while Oscar Piastri, the current F1 leader, took home the win.
