Ferrari Ignites Monza Excitement as Hamilton Dominates FP1…
The Italian Grand Prix 2025 swept off to an electrifying start with Ferrari displaying an impressive performance. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz placated the Ferrari fan base by coming second and third in both practice sessions respectively. Lewis Hamilton nevertheless ruled the first practice session (FP1) while Lando Norris led the second (FP2). Contrarily, Max Verstappen faced a tough start, struggling in both sessions of the day. Unfortunate mechanical complications troubled George Russell, while Isack Hadjar had a close scrape. Fans keenly await the qualifying round scheduled for Saturday.
The Tifosi, undying Ferrari fans, were treated to a thrilling show at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza on Friday. The ever-ardent supporters were delighted as they witnessed the red-and-blue Ferrari team starting off the weekend on a winning note, with the team performing exceptionally well on their home ground.
Although Lewis Hamilton clinched the top spot in FP1, the efforts of Charles Leclerc came to fore as he secured a second-place finish. In a turn of events, Lando Norris took the lead in FP2, bouncing back to top position while Leclerc and Sainz ensured that the cheers of the Ferrari supporters did not dwindle by finishing second and third.
A peculiar instance in the FP1 saw none of the top three championship racers finish among the top three. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc claimed the top two ranks while Carlos Sainz rounded off the top triumph. The atmosphere soared as the Ferrari followers wholeheartedly filled the stands to watch the Niki Lauda-inspired Ferrari livery race.
The first practice session witnessed Max Verstappen finish fourth while Lando Norris had to make do with the sixth spot. Oscar Piastri did not participate and instead, Alex Dunne took his place. Kimi Antonelli secured fifth place with George Russell finishing in the eighth spot, whereas Fernando Alonso finished ninth after his powerful performance in Zandvoort.
The second practice session (FP2) saw a strong comeback from Lando Norris as he lead the chart, with Leclerc and Sainz maintaining their top spots. Oscar Piastri managed fourth place on his return. Lewis Hamilton slid to fifth place from his earlier leader position, with Max Verstappen lagging even further at sixth. The highlight of this session though was a scary moment when Isack Hadjar ran wide off track, damaging the floor of his car in the process. He, however, managed to clinch the tenth spot.
The upcoming FP3 is slated to begin at 12:30 PM local time on Saturday, with the Qualifying scheduled at 4:00 PM local time.
