Epic Games has announced an exciting new feature for Fortnite – Sidekicks. These adorable animal companions are set to join the game’s universe on November 1, 2025, coinciding with The Simpsons crossover event.

Originally, the introduction of pets in the game during Chapter 1 Season 6 (2018) saw them functioning as Back Blings that responded to specific in-game actions. However, the Sidekicks are an evolution of this concept, with the ability to follow the player through various game modes, such as Battle Royale, Save The World, and LEGO Fortnite.

Although the new Sidekicks won’t affect gameplay and won’t succumb to any harm during combat, they are designed to interact with their environment and respond to special Sidekick Emotes from the player. The first Sidekick to be introduced is Peels, a cute dog with a banana theme and expressive animations, accessible through Chapter 6 Season 5 Battle Pass.

Following Peels’ arrival, Epic Games plans to unveil three additional Sidekicks named Bonesy, Spike, and Lil’ Raptor, available in the Fortnite Store from November 7. Future additions will also include cats. Players who own the Bonesy Back Bling Pet from the Chapter 1 Season 6 Battle Pass will be gifted the Bonesy Sidekick for free, as a reward for their continued support and dedication to the game.

The introduction of Sidekicks also brings a new level of customization to the table. After purchasing a Sidekick, players can alter its appearance once during the initial setup. Additionally, players can earn Sidekick Points by engaging their pets in battles. These points can be used to unlock and acquire additional cosmetics for the Sidekicks.

Besides Sidekicks, the November update will also welcome crossover content from the Fortnite x The Simpsons collaboration, making it one of the highly anticipated updates in recent times.
