Injured Taylor Out for Second Springboks Test, Major Blow for All Blacks

Veteran New Zealand hooker Codie Taylor has been ruled out of the second Rugby Championship Test against South Africa due to a head injury, while wing Emoni Narawa is also likely to miss out. Taylor failed a head injury assessment after leaving the field during the first half of Saturday’s game in Auckland, which the All Blacks won 24-17. Assistant coach Jason Ryan confirmed that Taylor would be replaced by Samisoni Taukei’aho. Narawa, who scored a try in the seventh minute, also had to leave the field due to a rib injury and is unlikely to play the next match. His career has been plagued by injuries, having played only four Tests since his debut 15 months ago. Ryan stressed that his team needs to maintain the same intensity for their upcoming match in Wellington. A victory will practically end South Africa’s chances of defending their title.
