Jason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles center, surprised fans on September 22 by joining the Baltimore Ravens’ pregame band. The retired NFL star, wearing a full Marching Ravens uniform, played the saxophone during the warmups before the game against the Detroit Lions.
Although Kelce is well-known for his football career, he showed another side of his talent to the fans present at the game. His brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, enthused that Jason was doing great.
Jason has a musical background, having played music since high school. He graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 2006, where he performed in the school jazz band and the symphonic winds ensemble on the baritone saxophone. In a podcast episode, Jason explained why music matters to him, stating that playing band and music has enabled him to excel in sports and other areas. He also encouraged kids to participate in as many activities as they enjoy, as this allows them to learn unique things from each one.
Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, also advocates for the arts and hopes their daughters would explore music or other creative activities. The Ravens’ game not only shone a spotlight on Jason’s football skills but also highlighted his talent as a musician.
