Leclerc’s Sand Dune Incident at Dutch Grand Prix Becomes Meme…
Charles Leclerc’s unexpected end to his race at the Dutch Grand Prix sparked a wave of memes and speculative conversation amongst fans. After his Ferrari was hit by Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli, Leclerc was spotted sitting atop a sand dune at Turn 3 instead of immediately returning to the paddock. Fans became intrigued when photos surfaced of Leclerc holding a phone, an unusual sight since drivers are not permitted to carry phones during a race.
A torrent of memes found their way onto the internet, with Leclerc in his race suit, sitting on the sand dune in the middle of the Zandvoort circuit. While many fans questioned why he had a phone and accused him of breaking rules, a RacingNews365 report clarified that Leclerc had borrowed the phone from a nearby photographer stationed to capture shots of the race.
Post the incident, Leclerc shared his thoughts on Instagram along with some pictures and is currently geared up for Monza after his collision at Zandvoort. As the Italian Grand Prix at Monza is Ferrari’s home race, both Leclerc and his teammate Lewis Hamilton are aiming for a strong result before the passionate Tifosi (fans) at the well known Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
