Lions Dominate Bears; Former Offensive Coach Johnson Excelling

Jared Goff led the Detroit Lions to a massive 52-21 victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday, managing five touchdown passes in total, with three going to Amon Ra St. Brown. The game reached a quarterback rating of 156.0 as Goff completed 23 of 28 passes for 334 yards.

The result marks a sour return for Bears head coach Ben Johnson, previously offensive coordinator of the Lions. St. Brown’s performance was marked by nine receptions covering 115 yards. Jahmyr Gibbs and Jameson Williams also contributed to the win, with 94 rushing yards, a touchdown, and two receptions for a total of 108 yards respectively.

The Bears saw a solid performance from Caleb Williams who passed for 207 yards and two touchdowns, Rome Odunze also had a strong game, with both of Williams’ touchdowns and seven catches yielding him a total of 128 yards. Ex-Lion D’Andre Swift achieved 63 yards and a touchdown.

The game started strong for the Lions with a touchdown within five plays. The Bears rallied with a 28-yard scoring pass from Williams to Odunze, but the Lions soon reclaimed the lead with a 32-yard pass from Goff to St. Brown that was followed up by David Montgomery’s one-yard touchdown. The Lions managed to hold off the Bears, maintaining their lead till the end of the game.

The match ended with a brief postgame handshake between Lions coach Dan Campbell and Ben Johnson.
