Live Update: Indian Test Squad for West Indies Series to be…

The squad for the upcoming West Indies-India Tests series is currently being mulled over by the Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel. Recovered from an injury, Karun Nair is likely to be a subject of contemplation for the panel due to his previously solid performance. However, his spot might be contested by Nitish Reddy, now fit and featuring in the India A squad. Expected certainties in the line-up include Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, B Sai Sudharsan, and Shubman Gill, while Dhruv Jurel will be donning the wicketkeeper’s gloves as Rishabh Pant is yet to fully return from injury. The panel will need to determine whether an additional batter or a batting all-rounder will join the team, affecting the composition of spinners and pacers. The squad is scheduled to be announced between September 23 and 24, according to the BCCI Secretary, Devajit Saikia. For the West Indies squad, veterans Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze have been recalled, with new inclusion of spinner Khary Pierre, while Gudakesh Motie has been rested.
