A Major WWE Star to Miss SummerSlam in New Jersey

A major WWE star, Liv Morgan, is set to miss the SummerSlam event in New Jersey due to a shoulder injury. This setback is personal as the event is in her hometown. According to WrestleVotes, Morgan is recovering from an injury that occurred a few weeks ago and will be out for six to nine months.

When Will Morgan Return?

In a Q&A session, WrestleVotes noted, “The timeline remains as previously reported: six to nine months. SummerSlam is just four weeks away, making it unlikely for her to return in time. While it would be awe-inspiring to see her back in her hometown, the recovery process remains a priority.”

Despite hopes for a quick recovery, current reports suggest Morgan’s return to the ring might extend to the full length of the projected six to nine months.

Details on the Injury

Morgan suffered the shoulder injury during a match against Kairi Sane on June 16, after landing awkwardly on the mat. Though Sane won that match, Morgan now requires surgery and is currently unable to participate in any matches.

So far, two matches are confirmed for SummerSlam: Cody Rhodes will challenge John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship, and Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill will face Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship. This year’s SummerSlam will be a two-night event, taking place on August 2-3 at MetLife Stadium.
