Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen is set to compete in a GT3 race, marking his debut in this category. Having won both the Monza and Baku F1 races, Verstappen is now preparing for the Nurburgring Langstrecken-Serie at the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

The 27-year-old Red Bull champion has shown impressive form recently, and is a potential contender to win the race this coming weekend. Known for setting high standards for himself, Verstappen might be well poised to add more trophies to his collection.

Can Max Verstappen secure a victory in his debut NLS race on Saturday?

Verstappen is scheduled to race in the upcoming round of the Nurburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) on Saturday, September 27. In this four-hour race, he will be driving a Ferrari 296 GT3, representing the Swiss Emil Frey Racing team. He will join forces with the 22-year-old Briton, Chris Lulham, who is also a highly competitive racer in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance and Sprint Cup.

Verstappen is also known for his love for various races. He has expressed his desire to race in different categories outside Formula 1. Racing at the Nordschleife is a unique experience for him, as he loves the atmosphere as well as the track’s complex nature. His dream is to participate in the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Before this GT3 race, Verstappen managed to win in his class at the Nordschleife, securing the special licence that he needed to participate in the race. He credits the challenging and long track as one of his favourite and most desired tracks to race on.

Once he has finished with the GT3 race, Verstappen will shift his focus back to Formula 1, as he prepares for the Singapore Grand Prix set for October 3-5. With four F1 victories under his belt this season, Verstappen is currently third in the F1 Drivers’ Standings with 255 points. After his latest win at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, he expressed his excitement on Instagram, writing, “On fire!!! What an incredible weekend for us.” Clearly, the reigning F1 champion shows no signs of slowing down.
