Messi’s India Tour: A Star-Studded Football Extravaganza in the Making

Lionel Messi’s trip will also see him go to Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and New Delhi, and his visit has been named ‘GOAT Tour of India 2025’.
It has been officially confirmed that Lionel Messi will visit India in December. According to reports, the Argentine star will embark on a three-city tour, starting in Kolkata on December 12.
Messi’s itinerary includes visits to Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi as part of the ‘GOAT Tour of India 2025’.

The 2022 World Cup winner is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 15, marking his first visit to India since 2011, when he played a friendly match in Kolkata against Venezuela.
Promoter Confirms Lionel Messi’s Visit
Promoter Satadru Dutta told PTI, “I got the authorization and made it official. Messi will announce between August 28 and September 1 with the official poster featuring all details and a brief introduction of his tour.”
Dutta met with Messi’s father and agent earlier this year and later discussed the proposal with Messi during a 45-minute meeting in February. “He seemed convinced and committed to coming,” Dutta added.
It’s rumored that Messi might travel with Inter Miami teammates Rodrigo De Paul, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets, though this is not yet confirmed.
Messi will arrive in Kolkata on December 12, spending two days there. Dutta stated, “He loves mate (Argentine herbal tea), so I’m planning a fusion with Indian Assam tea during a meet-and-greet at his hotel on December 13.”
A culinary event featuring Bengali dishes like hilsa and sweet delicacies is also planned.
A mural of Messi will be unveiled during Durga Puja, allowing fans to post messages. “He will present the mural to Messi at the GOAT Concert,” Dutta said.
