New Controversy Hits Pakistan Cricket – Corruption…

Former Pakistani cricketer Atiq-uz-Zaman has criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for supplying substandard jerseys for the Asia Cup 2025. He voiced his dissatisfaction on social media, calling out the stark contrast between Pakistan’s jerseys and other teams’ proper dry-fit kits.

Zaman posted, “Pakistan players sweating through low-quality kits while others wear proper dry-fits. This is when tenders go to friends, not professionals. Corruption dripping more than the sweat.”

Despite Pakistan’s recent 41-run victory over the United Arab Emirates, their batting performance still raises concerns. They scored only 146/9, with Shaheen Shah Afridi’s unbeaten 29 off 14 balls providing a late surge.

Team Captain Salman Ali Agha echoed these concerns, highlighting the need for improvement during the middle overs. He said, “We got the job done but we need to bat better in the middle overs. We haven’t batted to our best yet. If we did, we would’ve ended with 170-180.”

Praising key contributors, Agha said Shaheen is a match-winner whose batting has improved, and Abrar Ahmed has been outstanding and someone who is pulling them back into games. Looking forward, as they prepare for the Super Four match against India on September 21, Agha emphasized the need to improve their performance, especially between overs 7 and 15.

The team is now focused on overcoming their batting inconsistency before the crucial match against India. Their aim is to post more competitive totals. Agha ended by saying, “Yeah, we’re ready for any challenge. We just want to play good cricket, as we’ve been doing for the last few months.
