Ravindra Jadeja Puzzled Over Non-Selection for India vs…
Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, who is currently serving as vice-captain in the ongoing Test series against West Indies, has spoken up about his exclusion from the ODI squad for the upcoming Australia tour. He pointed out that the team management has communicated their decision to him.
Despite his omission, Jadeja remains dedicated to performing whenever the opportunity presents itself. His most recent performance saw him taking three wickets on the second day of the second Test in New Delhi, which helped to restrain West Indies to 140/4 at stumps.
Jadeja, who is an experienced left-arm spin bowling all-rounder, boasts an impressive record in ODIs. He has 231 wickets and 2,806 runs from 204 matches. Despite his prowess, he was not selected for the series. He has, however, expressed interest in playing in future major tournaments such as the World Cup.
In relation to his own achievements, Jadeja acknowledges that team success is more vital. He believes that regardless of his personal scores, what really matters is whether his performance is positively affecting the team and aiding their victories. As a senior member of the team, he is more than willing to provide guidance to younger players and adapt to differing circumstances based on what the team needs.
Jadeja had taken on the role of vice-captain for the West Indies series while Rishabh Pant was recovering from a fractured right foot. As a veteran player, he asserts that he doesn’t concern himself with thinking about captaincy but rather focuses on giving his best performance for the team.
