Seattle Storm confirms Noelle Quinn’s departure as coach.

The Seattle Storm professional basketball team has announced that Noelle Quinn will not be returning as the coach. This decision was made following the team’s first-round loss in the WNBA playoffs. Despite finishing seventh in the standings in the regular season, the Storm were defeated in the decisive Game 3 against Las Vegas.

Noelle Quinn was the only Black female head coach in the current WNBA season. Despite facing investigations related to allegations of workplace policy violations by her coaching staff last season, no policy violations were found. Quinn started her Storm career as a player in 2013 and served as an assistant and an associate head coach before taking over as the head coach in 2021.

Under her leadership, the team won their fourth WNBA championship in 2020. She ended her tenure on a 97-89 win-loss record, the second-highest in the franchise’s history. While thanking Quinn for her commitment and contribution to the team, Storm’s general manager Talisa Rhea stated, “She put us in a position to win at the highest levels of the game and for that, we are grateful.
