Unprecedented Journey: Minnesota Vikings’ Carson Wentz Sets New NFL Record with Six Teams in Six Seasons
Carson Wentz, the 32-year-old quarterback from North Dakota State, is making NFL history by becoming the first quarterback to start for six different teams in six successive seasons. Wentz began his career in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles but shifted to the Colts in 2021, the Commanders in 2022, the Rams in 2023, the Chiefs in 2024, and finally, the Minnesota Vikings this season.
Regarding his unusual career path, Wentz commented, “It sounds crazy when you say that. It’s definitely given me a different perspective. Going from being a starter, traded, cut, being a backup behind some future Hall of Fame quarterbacks, and seeing things done recently at a really high level. That’s given me some perspective. And also just the perspective of not taking this for granted.”
The Vikings’ star quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, is currently suffering from an ankle sprain, presenting Wentz with an early entry into the 2025 season. Tom Christ, a doctor of physical therapy, spoke about McCarthy’s injury. His prognosis suggests that McCarthy might not return to the field until after the team’s bye week in Week 6. Nonetheless, Wentz is ready to step up and lead the Vikings for the time being.
