V Chamundeswaranath Replaces Dilip Vengsarkar as ICA Player…
V Chamundeswaranath has succeeded former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar as the players’ representative on the Apex Council of the BCCI, Board of Control for Cricket in India. Chamundeswaranath was formerly a member of the Governing Council of the IPL, Indian Premier League. This position is now held by former India women’s team captain Shubhangi Kulkarni. Kulkarni previously served on the Apex Council as the women’s nominee. Vengsarkar’s three-year term, which began in 2022, on the Apex Council has come to an end.
In the recent Indian Cricketers’ Association (ICA) General Elections 2025, held on October 15 and 16, former India women’s team captain Shantha Rangaswamy was elected as the first-ever president of the ICA. The governing body praised the inclusion, leadership and representation of women in their announcement statement.
Chamundeswaranath, a former Andhra captain, is now in place of Dilip Vengsarkar on the Governing Council.
Finally, it was announced that the ICA Board consists of Shantha Rangaswamy as President, Venkittu Sundaram as Secretary, Deepak Jain as Treasurer, and Member Representatives are Santhosh Subramoniam and Jyoti G. Thatte. Meanwhile, the ICA Representative Nominees to the BCCI include the Male Representative Nominee to BCCI Apex Council as Vankina Chamundeswaranath, the Female Representative Nominee to BCCI Apex Council as Sudha Shah, and the Representative Nominee to the IPL Governing Council as Shubhangi Kulkarni.
