Max Verstappen has opened up about the young Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli, comparing his driving style to his own and offering him advice on patience. Antonelli, who is rumoured to be facing challenges in retaining his seat at Mercedes, has not been in a strong race position in the recent races. However, Verstappen has praised his driving spirit and potential, stating that the rookie just needs time to prove his talent.

The F1 drivers are preparing to head to Baku for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Verstappen expressed that Antonelli’s bold driving approach reminds him of his own early racing days and iterated his belief in the young driver’s talents. He also emphasized that starting with a top-rated team like Mercedes is not an easy task and that mistakes in the first F1 season are par for the course.

Despite the challenges, the fans of Antonelli remain hopeful about his performance. The rookie’s fervor for the upcoming Grand Prix has also been mirrored by his supporters who wrote encouraging messages like “Good luck Kimi, we trust you” and “Forza Kimi” (which translates to “you can do it”) in Italian.
