Von Miller’s Unexpected Pick for Greatest QB Ever Isn’t Tom Brady.
In a recent reveal, Washington Commanders’ linebacker Von Miller stated his favorite quarterback from the two top contenders – Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Despite Brady being the popular opinion for many, Miller declared Manning as his choice, explaining that Manning had changed the quarterback position with his innovative play patterns, not relying on scrambles but solely on his incredible arm.
In an interview on Glory Daze with Johnny Manziel, Miller said, “There’s gonna be a debate between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, who’s the best, you know, for me, it’ll always be Peyton Manning… He changed the play. Check the play. Change the play again. Go over the top… He did it all with his arm, and it was beautiful, man.”
While he admits that Brady is undeniably an impressive player, highlighting his achievement of seven Super Bowl wins, Miller’s admiration for Manning seems to prevail. Reflecting on both players’ accomplishments, Manning has had an impressive career with 71,940 yards, 539 touchdowns, and a 65.3% completion rate, holding the record for most touchdown passes in a single season. On the other hand, Brady holds the record with 649 touchdown passes over his career.
Both players are carefully watched and admired in NFL history. Peyton Manning is already a part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, being the holder of almost every passing record at his retirement time, and Tom Brady is likely soon to follow. Brady has been part of 9 super bowls with New England Patriots and 1 with Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
